what do you think about the book? x I think it is really easy to read it`s not that complicated (I usually need to read the same page twice in order to understand) how much did it take to finish it? x I haven`t finished it yet.......! what did you learn? x -1- "When you reach that kind of success and your arrogance starts to grow, you`ll be so happy you won`t even notice what is happening" I had that in Level 4 i was so confident that i`m the smartest girl in clas and i didn`t notice that i started to skip classes and exams and I end up Failing in 4 subjects... -2- Never Over analyse things... -3- Trial-and -error 8 8 That`s me for sure......and it`s been working for me ![]() -4- When Things go Wrong just "Find a new cheese!". QUESTIONS: "The more important your cheese is to you ,the more you want to hold on to it". Is the writer telling us that we shouldn`t hold on to something real tight? Or Is he telling us that you should hold on to our goals ?Wallah I couldn`t get it? |

Or Is he telling us that you should hold on to our goals ?Wallah I couldn`t get it? I think that is means that the more imprtant your goal is, the more you want to get it you should hold to your goals but be careful & notice the changes around you so that you will not lose your goal hope that you understand what I mean? ![]() |

it was not very clear .. but I think the writer meant not to hold on to something once it becomes a hopeless case.... at least that's what I think not to hold on to what's already gone ! Hem reminded me of an old friend of mine she didn't get the chance to be accepted in the university and ended up wasting a lot of years trying to be a student of that university. She refused to look in other directions for other opportunities, she turned down a lot of good chances, and she never got over the fact that life will always find a way to strike u. I really enjoyed that book .. I wish the next one will be as good |

Alsalam Alykom All
Al7amdillah I just finished reading “Who moved my cheese?” I have already read it before a while back, but a book is always benevolent Re-reading this has come at a good time as well. Thursday morning my mum’s uncle passed away, which brought up sore memories that I was proud to smother but they resurfaced that day. Anyway, back to the book. Has anyone noticed the significance of the little people names? I’ve looked them up in the Oxford dictionary and found the meaning of each name: Haw: to be full of activity Hem: to surround something so that they cannot move or grow easily In my opinion, the most appropriate meaning for both was from the actions (verbs) not the nouns. Throughout the book Haw was active while Hem was sulking away, making excuses to ponder on about the injustice of it all. But, as it is mentioned in p. 42, being active does not mean productive. A great lesson learned insh’Allah Oh, I also found out about the idiom Hum and Haw (Hem and Haw) it means to take a long time to make a decision or before you say something. There’s a point that I disagree on though, on p. 57 the author writes “Haw started to paint a picture in his mind again. He saw himself in great realistic detail, sitting in the middle of a pile of his favourite cheeses – from Cheddar to Brie!” Should we paint such images to move on? Might that not lead to disappointment? I’m very future oriented, but the plans I make are plausible and realistic, wouldn’t Haw be disappointed if the cheese wasn’t Cheddar or Brie? Then again maybe I’m over-analyzing. The book also touches an important problem, procrastination. I will talk more about that tomorrow :P hehe get it? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. By delaying you’re only increasing the fear building up inside. I learned that lesson a while back al7amdillah from a dear friend of mind. I kept sulking over a matter I could’ve handled but decided not to in the fear that it might not work. I concentrated about it “not working” forgetting what might happen if “it did work”. I was a Hem but a Haw now I’ll be back with more later today insh’Allah |
